Located on 1802 Penfield Road in Penfield, New York, Hong Wah Chinese Restaurant serves up a smorgasbord of Hunan, Szechuan, Cantonese and Beijing styled dishes. Hong Wah also provides a full bar well stocked with a variety of wines, beers and liquor. Ice cream and smoothies are big ticket items.
With appetizers of course, starting with an array of choice from crispy spring rolls, succulent dumplings to pan fried dumplings, all dishes are savory crowd pleasers. The soups, standard Egg Drop or Spicy Hot & Sour are continual favorites. There's a section called, Oriental Noodles. It is aimed at the connoisseur - for those who crave authentic Chinese flavors. The noodles are prepared with a real Chinese flair. The Pork with Pickled Cabbage Noodle Soup is a variation on a theme found elsewhere in Asia yet invented in China. Chow Fun and Mein Fun are done up Chinese style. All the dishes have been modified to achieve the desired results customers seek. Customers are very encouraged to try the restaurant’s daily specialties.
The diet menu section, which serves up steamed dishes without oil and salt, including Steamed Mixed Vegetables and Steamed Chicken Broccoli is becoming popular at Hong Wah recently years. Each of these healthy dishes is accompanied by customized sauce on the side.
